This is the official page of Brisbane Girls Grammar School (BGGS), an independent girls secondary school in Queensland Australia.
On 15 March 1875, Brisbane Girls Grammar School opened for lessons in a two-storey house with just fifty students. It was one of the first schools to offer girls the same educational opportunities as their brothers. Since those early days, thousands of girls have passed through the gates and the School has established an international reputation for both educational leadership and personal achievement by young women.
Brisbane Girls Grammar School offers a liberal education – an education that provides a basis for continuous learning and one that encourages girls to engage in critical thought using a variety of thinking methodologies. Our fundamental goal underpinning this is to provide every young woman with the best intellectual platform from which to approach their future endeavours.
